This workshop is suitable for keen yoga practitioners, teachers, therapists and anyone wishing to develop their understanding of Bhakti Yoga and Kirtan (Chanting).

Combining voice work practices and practical skills for singing and leading chants, this workshop will help to develop confidence to work with voice and sound, and to feel comfortable with your own voice.

Using voice work we aim to open and explore the voice using both structured and spontaneous sound. We use practices based on the chakra system, mantras and expressing through improvised sound as a group and as individuals.

Using practical techniques you will then learn to lead simple chants, how to bring sound into yoga practice, basic harmonium skills, the use of bija mantras and other sounds as part of the yoga practice.

Through the voice work and Kirtan you can deepen your connection to your voice and access the sounds that come from within. By using the voice, without any need for previous singing experience, we will help develop confidence and explore how it can be used as a tool for self healing, self expression and can help to transform emotions leading us to a place of inner peace.
