Gavin has always loved the voice and singing. He began formal musical training in the classical tradition, including singing. From the age of 11 he joined the local church choir and over time went on to study piano, oboe and voice, completing a music degree in 1990. Although this grounding has been extremely useful, Gavin began to crave for a freer, more heart-centred relationship with his own voice and self. In 1999 he began working with Chloe Goodchild, pioneer of the Naked Voice. Little did he know that he would be embarking on the one of the most transformative, powerful and profound journeys of his life!

Gavin has been facilitating voice workshops for 9 years and has had the honour of working with people from all walks of life. Workshops vary in length and flavour; individual sessions, weekly groups, chanting sessions, half day and day workshops, and residential weekends. Using techniques such as breathing exercises, movement, chanting, the Indian scale, improvisation, meditation and much more, we explore the power, resonance, depth and wisdom of the voice in as many ways as we can.

More recently he has been working with the elderly in care homes and his experiences illustrate how important voice and sound are in that environment.

He is committed to continuing to deepen his relationship with his inner voice and to encourage others to awaken and express their authentic sound.

Gavin also offers Harmonium amd Musicianship workshops for those wishing to familiarise themselves with the instrument as well as gaining confidence in simple music theory.He is also the treasurer of the NVFA.

Gavin also performs in a duo called MADRUM and their debut album Soma was released in June 2007 and their latest CD Marrakech was released in March 2010. Gavin and MADRUM have created some great videos which can be seen here.
